PROJECT DETAILS
I've designed this poster for a Dan Reisinger / El Al competition and was chosen as one of the finalists. The competition was curated by The Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles.
Dan Reisinger’s work has inspired my design by its very distinguished style. Reisinger’s El Al posters are very simple and minimal yet strong and memorable. He found ways to convey each city in his series with very little details by using very recognizable icons in his illustrations. This is what I tried to do with my design for the Los Angeles El Al poster. I’ve chosen the distinctive architectural building of Encounter restaurant at LAX airport to represent the city and replace the “A” in the EL AL logo, in a style inspired by Reisinger’s posters. I’ve picked the colors yellow and purple, first because Los Angeles is in sunny California (there for the yellow background) and second, the yellow/purple combination is a nod to the legendary local basketball team, the LA Lakers.
